Fall 2015 Performance Schedule

The following plays will be performed in our area–I will update it if I learn of any others. If you make trips to the city frequently, there are many other options available there. If you choose to see a performance not on this list, please ask me about it before you use it as one of your activity options.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Pearl Theatre, New York (Sept. 8-Oct. 31)

The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s production of Midsummer will move to this Manhattan theater in early September. I highly recommend it if you can make your way to the city. The production is innovative, smart, and very funny.

“Set in a girl’s school, this unique production of Julius Caesar promises to be an explosive and arresting production of Shakespeare’s most famous discourse on power, loyalty, and tragic idealism.”

This is a HD recording of Benedict Cumberbatch’s (of Sherlock fame) performance as the Dane from London’s Barbican Theatre this fall.

All’s Well that Ends Well at SUNY Purchase (Dec. 4-12)

“The King of France offers Helena the hand of any courtier she wishes. But the man she wants doesn’t want her. To win his heart, she will follow him to wars in foreign countries and trick him into thinking she’s someone else. One of the Bard’s problem comedies, which illustrate that love is sometimes one-sided, but always amusing.”
