Your Children’s Poem & Song File should include songs / poems learned in our Reading I class, found in your fieldwork, or from any other source. You must include poems/songs from the following categories:

Please follow the following guidelines when preparing your file:
- Poems and songs should be typed and placed into a three-ring binder so that you can add more entries as you collect more during Field 2, Field 3, Student teaching, and beyond.
- Tabs should separate and clearly indicate categories according to the above table.
- Add a simple illustration to each entry (hand-drawn or computer-generated are both equally acceptable).
- Poems and songs should be laminated or put in plastic sleeves for durability.
- Remember: you are beginning a file that you will take with you into your first classroom and use with children. Make it fun and inviting!
