At first I thought that games similar to “hangman” (which Miller says she includes in her message boards sometimes) that teachers might play with their kids were just a kind of “brain break” to relieve stress and have some fun. Now, I think that the concept of these kinds of games actually teach children important spelling skills such as clustering, blending, and predicting of other patterns in words. I know it was such a short segment of the video, but that really stuck with me because it was so simple.
