Firelight Films is the award-winning documentary production company behind the films of Stanley Nelson (SOUND OF THE POLICE, ATTICA, CRACK: Cocaine, Corruption & Conspiracy, MILES DAVIS: Birth of the Cool, BLACK PANTHERS: Vanguard of the Revolution, Tell Them We Are Rising) while Firelight Media is dedicated to developing emerging documentary filmmakers telling underrepresented stories, and moving them from the margins to the forefront of mainstream media through high-quality, powerful productions. They produce films that expose injustice, illuminate the power of community, and tell a history seldom told by mainstream media. Firelight is also dedicated to developing emerging documentary filmmakers telling underrepresented stories and moving them from the margins to the forefront of mainstream media through high-quality, powerful productions.

They are looking to source their next cohort of Firelight interns for the upcoming Summer 2024 semester which is set to take place from Monday, June 10th, 2024 and run through Friday, August 23rd, 2024. Interns support many aspects of their work including pre-production research to artist support program tracking, and by doing so helps them further their mission of making an impact through documentary film.

Whether you’re interested in being a producer, a journalist, a web developer, an engineer, a business executive, a PR agent, a sales representative, or any other career in media or tech, the EBF Internship is here to help you get your start.

You are eligible to apply for an EBF Summer Internship if you meet ALL of the following:

  • Are a student of color (Asian, American Indian/Alaskan Native, Black, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Hispanic/Latino, or Multi-Racial)
  • Are a high school senior OR an undergraduate college student (undergraduates graduating in Spring 2024 are eligible to apply)
  • Plan to attend or are currently a student at a four-year accredited U.S. college or university (This includes students who will transfer to a four-year accredited U.S. college or university in Spring 2024 or Fall 2024.)
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0
  • Are interested in pursuing a career in media, entertainment, and tech
  • Are able to commit to a summer internship that will last at minimum 8 continuous weeks and which could be longer as required by the company’s internship duration. The internship is full-time and students work from 35-40 hours per week as determined by the partner company. (Note: Internships generally start in May or June. The internship start and end dates are determined by the partner company.)
  • Are a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
  • Must be 18 years of age prior to the start of the internship

They help youth in the Hudson Valley from all backgrounds explore, experience, and excel in the arts, introducing them to visual arts and media, giving them the opportunity to develop real skills in these fields, and guiding them towards achieving their academic and career goals.

Media Intern Needed for Campus Ministry & Food Pantry Spring 2023

Campus minister Allison Moore, with Chaplain Michelle Ledesma-Baer, director of the Student Christian Center, are seeking a communications/media intern to raise the visibility of the campus Food Pantry and expand progressive Christian ministry beyond the Food Pantry, into food sustainability, food justice, cooking classes, nutrition workshops, etc. 

Requirements:

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to document work–all accounts, all passwords, necessary info to hand off to a new intern next semester

Interested in working in the Podcast industry? (un)maidenly podcast seeking Editing/Production intern for paid Spring 2023 internship !

The (un)maidenly podcast is looking for a Spring 2023 intern to help edit and produce their weekly podcast. Interns will be paid and can expect to work 8 hours a week (120 hours total). All work will be done remotely and interns will be given access to the equipment and software needed to produce the podcast. On top of editing and production, interns will help with some marketing tasks – familiarity with Canva is a must !
