Finley, Ron, director. A Guerilla Gardener in South Central LA. YouTube, TED Talk, 6 Mar. 2013, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzZzZ_qpZ4w. Accessed 25 Feb. 2023.
This TED talk that was presented by Ron Finley is about how most low income communities do not have access to healthy foods and are placed in areas of food desert. Ron Finley starts a movement by trying to include people of the community and reaching out to people to help start planting organic healthy foods. Finley states that more people are dying from drive thrus than drive bys in these low income neighborhoods, Finley uses this piece of evidence to show low income communities are dying from obesity and other health problems because of unhealthy foods. This source interests me because it shows people are aware of wellness. I intend to use this in my argument to show how low income communities are unable to have access to healthy foods and people of these areas are unable to live a healthy life or diet correctly due to the low access of healthy foods.

Spurlock, Morgan, director. Super Size Me. Documentary Mania, 1 Jan. 1970, https://www.documentarymania.com/video/Super%20Size%20Me/. Accessed 25 Feb. 2023.
Super Size Me is a documentary about a man named Morgan Spurlock that makes a decision to experiment his health by eating Mcdonald’s for an entire month. Morgan Spurlock will only be eating food and drinks from Mcdonald’s for this month and was required to eat every item off the menu. The reason for Morgan Spurlock’s decision in eating mcdonald’s for a whole month was to show how major fast food industries are the reason for the increase of obesity across the world. In the documentary it shows Morgan getting sick from all the fast food he is consuming and shows how unhealthy it is. This source interests me because it helps show how fast food is a major reason for health problems across the world as it causes obesity and many health problems. I intend to use this source to argue the fact that people are more exposed to toxic food such as fast food which causes people to believe it is the only option to eat.

Dillon, McKenzie. “7 Ways to Eat Healthy While You’re on a Budget.” CNET, CNET, 25 Feb. 2023, https://www.cnet.com/health/nutrition/how-to-eat-healthy-on-a-budget/.
This article by CNET is about how to eat healthier while being on a budget. This article teaches people how to shop for healthy foods and buy healthy organic food for very low prices and how to save foods. Some ideas that were suggested were using coupons, making and sticking to a grocery list, how to deal with leftovers, and even learning how to grow your own food. This article interests me very much not only because I feel like I could learn how to eat healthier from this but this can help people around the world budget spend less money on groceries while being able to eat healthier and not having to lose all your money. I intend to use this article in my argument by showing that price isn’t an excuse to not eat healthy because this article gives the audience a way on how to approach buying healthy foods at a low price.

Greger, Michael. How Not to Die. Pan Books, 2018.
How not to die is about Dr. Michael Gregor talking about ways to prevent many different health diseases and how to prevent catching and inheriting those health diseases. Doctor Michael Gregor speaks about certain foods that are okay and not okay to eat and different and how to live a healthy life. This book is general handbook on how to live a healthy life by explaining the pros and cons of different hobbies such as smoking drinking exercising and more. This book interests me because it talks about how to live a healthy lifestyle and to know what nutrients you should be consuming and how to eat healthier and live a longer and healthier life. I plan to use this source to show how people can read this book and learn how to live a healthier life and diet correctly from the perspective of a doctor and help the designated audience be able to live healthier.

Thompson, Debbe, et al. “Butterfly Girls; Promoting Healthy Diet and Physical Activity to Young African American Girls Online: Rationale and Design.” BMC Public Health, vol. 13, no. 1, 2013, pp. 709–709, https://doi.org/10.1186/1471-2458-13-709.

This scholarly essay is about how African American girls are at higher risk of obesity. This scholarly essay introduces the idea of a eight episode program that promotes healthy diets and physical activities for younger females to prevent obesity and future health problems that may come up in the future if health isn’t taken care of. This program is meant to help conduct a study on minorities to help reducing the risk of obesity and heart problems and other diseases that have to do with health. I chose this source because it encourages people of color that are at higher risk of having health problems to work on themselves and stay healthy at a young age rather than waiting until they hit an age where it is harder to work on their health. I intend to use this into my argument to show there are programs that help try to prevent major health problems and that even the program is meant to help encourage people to work out and work on themselves to avoid being sick.
