As I began my reflection process, I made it a point to look back at the initial question to truly understand what was being asked. I noticed that one of my biggest issues when writing both my rhetorical analysis and extended definition essay was that I tend to stray away from my intended line of thinking and my writing becomes unorganized. Some paragraphs could be more refined, and my analysis could be deeper in order to create better connections between the source and my ideas. I found the article “Writing as thinking on paper” to be really helpful with breaking down the analysis portion of the essays. Another part of my revision process was addressing all of my grammatical errors and issues with MLA format. This was achieved by reading my essays out to whoever would listen. It was so much easier to catch my mistakes and identify where I could be making ideas more concise when reading it aloud. One of the greatest pieces of advice that has applied to most of my writing is that if you struggle to read it aloud then there is still more work to be done. I would continuously read the paragraphs over and make subtle changes until it flowed.  I can now appreciate the revision process as over the past few weeks, I have seen the gradual progression of my ideas as each essay connects to the other. It was definitely a proud moment to see all of the essays reflect where I started in my writing journey and where I am today.
