Small Assignment 2
Mini Tutorial
For this assignment, we had to choose a topic from when we gave oral presentations to the class. Then, we had to make a mini tutorial for that topic that could be accessed from a computer at home. My topic was about psychological disorders and the myths and misconceptions behind them.
Reflection
I learned that basic research is boring, but extremely easy. I didn’t have problems finding information as you can find almost anything on Google these days. It also make double checking the information that I find very easy as well. Since you can usually find multiple sources that share the same topic and info, anything that doesn’t line up very obvious, making getting rid of misinformation simple. Concerning myself, I learned that I get bored very easily, mostly due to my ADHD. I also get impatient during my research for the same reason. I typically get distracted by other things in my life, or I move on to another project to help keep my sanity, and I end up losing track of the time I have for the project. I learned that formatting and staying concise are the most important parts of making a mini tutorial. The reason is because if you have a bad formatting or put way too much meaningless information on the tutorial, people are going to get bored. You also need to stay consistent in the style of your mini tutorial. No one likes it if your project is completely random throughout. I also have to consider the taste of my audience, not just myself. I can’t just make a mini tutorial that only I would like or has references that I understand, but my audience has no idea what the heck I’m talking about. I will take the knowledge of how not to suck at PowerPoints with me for the rest of time. This will help me with many projects that I will no doubt have that require a PowerPoint.
