Graphing

Bar Graph

This is a comparative bar graph showing the nutrients from two foods. The data from this bar graph was collected from two randomly selected food labels. From the graph, you can see I compared the fiber, sugar, carbohydrates, and protein contented in grams. The benefit of this graph is you can easily compare the foods. This activity taught us how to properly read food labels so that we are not tricked by the content.

Above you can see a bar graph made to show how many squats and push ups were able to be done without stopping. This graph could be created with many different exercises. The goal would be to notice an increase over time.

Pie Graph

Grade 3 Assessment

By following the link above you will see a pie chart displaying the results of an assessment done on a third-grade class. This was created after reviewing and grading 10 students’ work. There were three problems with a total of 7 points available. This pie chart allows me to see the scores together to recognize the distribution of understanding. I can use this to know if I need to go back and review the material or not. I could also create a pie graph to show the percent of students who got each problem correct. This can narrow down what specifically needs to be reviewed.

Line Graph

Bean Germination

After examining beans as a group, the students came up with a variable to make beans grow faster. The group that is charted above chose to cover the bean bag in black paper. Periodically over 21 days, the group measured the growth of the beans and recorded it. With the data collected this line graph was created.
