The Department of Digital Media and Journalism, The Center for Student Media, and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations are excited to invite you to join us for Media Day 2025! The event will be taking place on Thursday, 5/8/25 in SUB 409. The Alumni Panel begins at 10:00am, followed by the Keynote Presentation at 12:30pm. Open studios will then take place at 2:00pm.
Each year, we bring working alumni to meet with students, faculty, and guests to discuss their career developments, and reflect on their experiences at SUNY New Paltz. The keynote address, usually given in the evening, will be a luncheon. Past keynote presenters include Oscar-Winning Filmmakers (Leon Gast, Barbara Kopple), Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalists (Dan Barry), as well as network executives (Fred Seibert, Mike Klinghoffer), media analysists (Lee Hunt) as well as genre filmmakers and storytellers (such as animators Joy + Noelle, Bill Plympton and Queer Film Pioneer Barbara Hammer).
This year, our luncheon keynote guest is Erin Brady (’05). Erin is a Senior Producer for Good Morning America, working as Michael Strahan’s producer.
Some of her more recent work can be found here.
She also recently worked as an Executive Producer for Life Interrupted: Isabella Strahan’s Fight to Beat Cancer.
Previously, Erin Brady and her team earned a Peabody Award for Say Her Name: Breonna Taylor.
Alumni panel begins at 10:00am, with the Keynote at 12:30pm. There will be an open house for the student media clubs, including Hawk Studios and WFNP, immediately following the keynote presentation.
