Hey, sophomores! This is a big year. Wish you knew someone who’d been through it already? Check out the Sophomore Connections mentoring program, hosted by the Career Resource Center, and sign up to be matched with an alumni mentor.
Connecting with an alum is a great way to:
-
- explore post-grad pathways and how the choices you make now can lead you there,
- get advice from someone who knows what its like, and
- develop professional skills and networks.
Mentor/mentee pairs connect virtually once a month through the academic year. Each month, they discuss a different prompt such as study tips, life balance and wellness, career readiness, and the meaning of a SUNY New Paltz degree. Monthly conversations take place via email, phone, or video chat, based on the preference of the pair. All participants are invited to gather in person at a special event during Alumni Weekend in October.
Sophomores, if you’re interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, use the link below to apply by Friday, September 15, at 8PM. With questions, contact Senior Career Specialist Key Bergin (bergink1@newpaltz.edu).
