Memoir 4
I chose to analyze a piece of art on the SUNY New Paltz campus for this assignment. The art piece is part of a mural on the side of a building near the student union. The mural is a vibrant and eye-catching piece of art depicting a diverse group of students engaged in various activities such as studying, playing music, and enjoying the outdoors.
The piece of art struck me because it conveyed a strong message of diversity and inclusivity. The mural depicts students of various races, genders, and backgrounds coming together to celebrate college life. The mural’s use of color enhances its impact. The vibrant and eye-catching colors create a lively and energetic environment that reflects the vibrancy of college life.
The mural’s message is one of inclusivity and unity. The image of diverse students engaged in various activities sends a powerful message of acceptance and tolerance. The mural symbolizes the school’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
To convey its message, the mural employs visual rhetoric. The use of color and imagery creates an emotional connection with the viewer and helps to convey the message of unity and inclusivity. The mural also employs persuasive rhetoric by demonstrating the benefits of a diverse and inclusive community. The image of students from various backgrounds coming together to enjoy college life inspires others to embrace diversity and work towards creating a more inclusive society.
I came across the mural while walking around campus and was immediately drawn to its vibrant colors and energetic appearance. I wasn’t looking for a piece of writing, but the mural caught my eye and made an impression on me.
Finally, the mural on the SUNY New Paltz campus exemplifies the power of visual rhetoric to convey a message. Its use of color and imagery evokes an emotional response in the viewer and promotes diversity and inclusivity. The mural exemplifies the school’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive community, and it serves as an inspiration to all who see it.”’
