Before taking this course or class my true feelings about my own writing skills were mid standard because I’ve always believed that my writing was top notch since high school, and I felt that there were little to no errors in some of my writing papers. That’s until I realized when I got to college that my writing skills weren’t as top notch as I thought because I started to see cracks or little mistakes or errors in my writing that I believed needed to be corrected or improved on.
I learned how to be more descriptive and how to slow down and plan out what I’m going to do in my outline or in my paper. I’d improve on cutting some words out in my writing and stick to one idea and learning how to annotate specific things in my writing so I can use it later on to help me write a well written organized paper and knock out some of the mistakes I’ve made in my previous writing assignments.
The skills or strategies from this class that I utilized in another class is critical thinking because I used my critical thinking skills to analyze a certain time period in history and develop a deeper understanding of how certain things caused that event to happen and to see if there was any evidence to support my analysis in what could of happened in those crucial moments that led to any disastrous event.
Two examples of critical reading or thinking reading one is analyzing an painting and research specific topic these skills are a part of an effective way because it when analyzing certain thing can you get a different perspective and see things from a different angel and view things as deeper than it’s already is. And researching can help you dive deeper into a unknown thing and help you uncover the most shocking facts in the world.
One specific example that has helped me change my thinking of college level writing is formatting I belive formatting has helped me stay organized and keeps me at a fast-paced level.
One example that I learned about the writing process is brainstorming I believe brain storming has helped me levitate my writing skills in a tremendous way where I would not feel scatter brained every time, I try to write something it has helped me think my idea and jot it down clearly and precisely.
Another example that has helped is revisiting because revisiting something from a draft paper helps me see what I made and learn not what to do when I try and rewrite a paper and succeed in every way I can possible.
I believe that my strength is meaning and clarity because when I write I tend to write with a true meaning and depth and go deeper into a valuable meaning.
And my weakness is organization because I believe when I write I tend to not be so good at organization at times and I tend to mess up when writing.
I feel prepared to write about college writing expectations because it helps you understand things on a deeper level and find a common around at where you at and how you can improve. it has changed for the better.
