Languages & Careers Event (Tues., Oct. 22 @ 5pm in SUB 62/63)

Please join us for the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures Fall reception this Tuesday, October 22 from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the SUB room 62-63. This year’s theme, “Career Readiness: Languages in/for Today’s Job Market,” will feature a panel of former students who will talk about their current jobs/careers and discuss how their language skills (Japanese, German, French, Spanish) were key for their professional development. This will be followed by a Q&A session, a raffle, and refreshments.

One of the featured speakers will be Jeremy Luna, a 2020 graduate who majored in Asian Studies and International Relations. He studied abroad at Kanazawa University. He is currently the Consulate Spokesperson at the U.S. Consulate in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, and will be talking about his journey and how language study was, and is, part of it.
