Hi, my name is Arlette Mateo. In this semester in Writing and rhetoric, I learned a lot of things. One thing that I mastered was citing my work within paragraphs and just on the works cited page. Citing my work for my Research Project one was a challenge for me because even though iI learned how to cite work in previous classes it was still confusing to me. Professor Rigolino helped a lot with it. That is a strategy that I use in my other classes such as my Philosophy class. My primary takeaways for this class was how to pay attention to details and to figure out what makes a good and strong presentation. For example, a blurry picture in a presentation can make your audience confused and it is not professional at all. In class, I wish Professor Rigolino could have focused more on word choice and how to properly speak in a paper. Some things that are going to be useful to me in my future classes are how to properly cite a book, article, newspaper, etc. Citing is very important because if you do not cite your work you are plagiarizing even though you did not intend to. One of the strengths that I learned that I have is working with others. Even though I do not like working with others I know that I do well in group projects. One of my weaknesses is communication skills when needing help. That has to be the hardest thing for me to do is ask for help. English 170 with Professor Rigolino has taught me a lot and I am very grateful for her for teaching what I learned.
