Today we were tasked to make as many lines as we could with only one brush. After, we made as many colors as we could out of the primaries, black, and white. Then we were instructed to make an imaginary landscape while considering foreground, middle ground, and background. I knew I wanted to do a scene that would resemble a Studio Ghibli movie so I got to work on sketching out ideas. Once I picked a design I liked, I got to work. Overall, I feel like I was really enjoying the process of creating. I also felt like I was continuing to relearn color mixing. Since I want to teach high school, I would probably utilize this lesson as an introductory activity for freshmen perhaps. But this activity could definitely work for a lot of different age groups.
Angela, I love your play with line weight on your page of lines! The thin to thick lie really struck me, because I kept making my lines even! Super cool. I also LOVE your painting, so pretty and really fits the prompt.
