Assignment 2 Reflection

Today in class we worked with the primary colors and black and white. We were first tasked to make patterns out of these colors while trying to create as many colors as possible with the paints that were given. Once we created our patterns, we let them dry and moved on to the next activity. We were then tasked to fill an entire page with as many colors as we could create without leaving any of the white from the paper showing. After this we each took a pattern from before that we did not make and we painted over it using black and white. We then mounted our designs onto different colored paper to make them pop.

Overall, I had a lot of fun with the activities we did today. I felt like I was painting like a kid again! I was really learning color mixing all over again. It was challenging to make certain colors the way I wanted them. I think I could definitely use this activity in a classroom setting as an introduction to color mixing for any age. The concept itself might be better suited for a younger audience but I still think it could work in a middle or high school setting.
