This is my Sufi Dancer – class project – of moving pictures. The reason I chose this Sufi Dancer is to be able to introduce it to my student while teaching culture, and I can teach them easily how can they make it. The Sufi Dance is very common in Turkey and Egypt and it important culture aspect.

It was a quite challenging project, as most of the time, was used to build the “dancer”. One of the challenges was being able to create a “light” dancer in order to spin easily, as the balance was very important for the spinning speed.

I wanted him to carry a “drum” in his hand but it was a time-consuming process. I was using tissues to create his dress and body, but next time a will create this project I might use clay and cloth for better results.
