This is an older piece of mine but it represents comfort to me because Ive always been super connected to nature. When ever Im out in nature on a hike or even just laying outside in the yard I always feel at home and completely at peace and this head made up of flowers really represents the calming energy of the outdoors for me.

This piece shows my longing for community and connection with others. I think I feel the most comforted when around the people who I love and sometimes when I am away from those people or they otherwise fall out of my life, I can feel isolated. Ive never been one to have a big group of close friends and instead only had a few close friends so I always wished I had more people that I was deeply connected to. despite those feelings though this piece is just a reminder of the fact that that I do have plenty of people in my life who love me and even if i’m not with them, they are still there to comfort and support me no matter what.

Curiosity Calls  8′ x 6′ Paper Collage

This collage is something I created to represent the boundless creativity that children have because it is that energy that inspires me to become a teacher. Kids are so incredibly creative and curious which makes them a joy to be around and through my teaching experience I have been able to see the many different ways kids can use their art to explore and express themselves which has been wonderful.

When I think of comfort I immediately go to the things I love the most in life and one of those things is dogs. This is actually a painting of someone else’s dog named Bunny but she was such a beautiful subject I had to paint her. My dog specifically brings me so much joy and comfort and Im really not sure what I would do without her. I know that many people have the same feelings for their dogs as well so this is kind of a tribute to all the dogs that make our lives better.
