Black Lives Matter week of action, February 4 – 8th, 2019

This year, schools across the country are adopting the four demands of the Black Lives Matter at School movement February 4-8th:

1) End “zero tolerance” discipline, and implement restorative justice
2) Hire more black teachers
3) Mandate black history and ethnic studies in K-12 curriculum
4) Fund counselors not cops

If you are an educator, student, or community member in New York’s Hudson Valley and would like to join the movement, post what you and/or your school are doing to respond to these demands.

Be sure to wear a Black Lives Matter at School shirt on Wednesday, February 6 (BUY IT HERE ASAP: https://teespring.com/es/national-blm-week-of-action-at?utm_campaign=national-blm-week-of-action-at&utm_medium=oembed&utm_source=wordpress#pid=2&cid=2397&sid=front). Post solidarity pictures here.

As events are planned here in the Hudson Valley, they will be posted in the discussion.
