Teaching Interests:
Sarah Wyman teaches Comparative Literature and critical theory with an emphasis on poetry, the visual arts, and drama in the U.S. and Europe.  She also teaches creative writing and is an Affiliate Professor in the Women’s, Gender & Sexuality Studies program.  As Provost’s Fellow to the Teaching & Learning Center, she helps coordinate research, services, and support. For recent scholarly and creative publications, please visit her website: faculty.newpaltz.edu/sarahwyman

Research and Creative Activity:
Recent poems appeared in Ekphrasis (2017), AMP (2017), aaduna (2014), Mudfish (2012), Petrichor Review (2013), and A Slant of Light: Contemporary Women Writers of the Hudson Valley (Codhill 2013).

Sarah has also published articles on rhetorics of representation in the verbal / visual work of Sam Shepard, Janet Kozachek, Robert Hayden, Ursula Le Guin, Percival Everett, Langston Hughes, Federico García Lorca, Frank O’Hara, Paul Klee, and Sherman Alexie. Her article on museum learning, “Methods and Models for Museum Learning at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art,” co-authored with Jennifer Waldo (Biology) and Dennis Doherty (English / Creative Writing), appeared in Journal for Learning Through the Arts (U California, Irvine, 2016) Permalink:
